2020 Camp Update

There is confusion and uncertainty surrounding COVID-19, but our commitment to offering safe, quality summer camp programming continues.

We have carefully considered information from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Maryland Department of Health (MDH) to determine the requirements for operating our day camp program legally, safely, and appropriately during these challenging times. As always, our main concern is the health and safety of our campers and camp staff. Summer at Friends is licensed as a Maryland Youth Camp by MDH, and their Directive and Orders Regarding Youth Camps currently limit operations to approved Outdoor Day Camps. Additional MDH and CDC guidelines and procedures for day camps are severely restrictive, and the quality of Summer at Friends camp programs, as we know them, would be significantly altered. Therefore, we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel all on-campus camps from June 15-August 7, 2020. All monies paid will be refunded.

What’s next? These reimagined versions of some of your favorite camps, although not camp as we’ve traditionally known it, will offer new and creative content for our campers and provide opportunities to interact with fellow-campers. Registration is now open for virtual programs.

Check out our Virtual Summer Programs for ages 4-14, June 15-August 7

If you have any questions, please email us: summercamp@friendsbalt.org

We miss our Summer at Friends family and look forward to being together again on campus.

Come play with us!

Summer at Friends offers a variety of fun, enriching day camps for boys and girls ages 4 through 13. Led by energetic and enthusiastic staff who love working with kids, campers form friendships and discover the joy of learning new skills in a safe, supportive environment.

Safe. Supervised. Super-fun!

Summer at Friends programs are certified by the State of Maryland for compliance with Youth Camp Safety Regulations. Our Registered Nurse is on campus during camp hours, and certified Water Safety Instructors and Lifeguards lead daily swimming instruction and recreational swim. Our team of experienced teachers and counselors guides children through a busy day that includes plenty of water breaks, sunscreen checks and camp spirit.

Experience the Quaker Dimension

In accordance with the Quaker philosophy of Friends School, our program strives to instill feelings of self-worth and confidence in every camper and to encourage respect, cooperation and consideration of others.  We celebrate diversity and believe in the unique worth of each individual. All programs are open to non-Friends School students.
